About
Hi! I’m Zihao Wang, an Associate Professor at the Shanghai University, Shanghai, in the School of Future Technology and Institute of Artificial Intelligence.
My work and research
My research team conducts scientific and engineering research on intelligent marine vehicles, focusing on modeling (physical, data-driven, etc.) and digital twin technologies, autonomous decision-making and control, and virtual-physical integration. Our goal is to mitigate autonomy-related uncertainties and enhance the understanding and control of marine unmanned system behaviors.
My current interests include artificial intelligence paradigms in dynamical system research (AI for Science), intelligent in-situ modeling for marine robots, and reinforcement learning for autonomous decision-making and control.
My background and history
I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Harbin Engineering University, China, in 2013 and 2016, respectively, where I focused on underwater robotics research. I then obtained my Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, under the supervision of Prof. Zaojian Zou, specializing in data-driven modeling and control of marine vehicles. During my doctoral studies, I conducted a research visit at CENTEC (Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering), University of Lisbon, where I was jointly supervised by Prof. Carlos Guedes Soares.
